Carl Meyer, FAIA, LEED AP, has joined the Los Angeles office as a Principal and leader of the corporate + commercial + civic practice. In his new role, Meyer will work to sharpen Perkins+Will’s identity in the region as designers of community institutions and successful public environments.
Carl brings to the practice a strong background in major urban mixed-use projects; commercial, community, corporate and institutional facilities; and university projects. Prior to joining Perkins+Will, he was principal and managing director at Rossetti where he led major projects for the University of California, Irvine and California State University, San Luis Obispo, as well as the design of several retail and entertainment projects. Prior to 2004, Carl was a partner of Altoon + Porter Architects where he led major commercial mixed-use projects in the U.S., Russia and Western Europe.
“With every project, my objective is to produce an environment in which projects of the highest design quality can be developed,” said Meyer.

Carl’s professional activities include serving as an adjunct professor at the University of Southern California’s School of Policy, Planning and Development. He also has been an active participant in the AIA, having served on the national Board of Directors from 2003-2006 and as president of the AIA California Council in 2002.
Carl holds a Master of Architecture degree from the University of California, Los Angeles and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from Loyola Marymount University.
