Blair joined Perkins+Will in 2009 as Principal responsible for engineering and energy systems. His extensive knowledge of sustainable engineering provides high-level overview regarding the integration of architectural and mechanical systems. As a Principal and senior engineer he has extensive experience in engineering and energy systems, especially at a campus and district level, including the district energy system for the internationally renowned LEED Platinum Certified Dockside Green Development. Blair works closely with the project team to develop leading-edge solutions for projects across market sectors and draws from his background working on a number of projects targeting LEED Platinum and beyond. Blair is a strong proponent of ‘whole-systems sustainability.’
Blair is a LEED Accredited Professional, a Fellow of the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), an Honorary Member of the Architectural Institute of British Columbia (AIBC) and a member of several other professional organizations. Blair was founding Chair of the Vancouver Branch of the Cascadia Chapter of the USGBC (US Green Building Council) and was a member of the CaGBC Technical Advisory Group (TAG). The scope of Blair's expertise continues to expand with new interdisciplinary projects that consider sustainability of the entire site, including resource inputs and waste outputs.
