Robert D. Young is Design Principal of the Washington office of Perkins+Will. He has had key design and leadership roles in many award-winning cultural and academic projects in the US and Europe, including the Newseum (Washington, DC); The Institute for Performing Arts (New York University's Tisch School of the Arts); Brooklyn Museum's new Entry Pavilion; Scandinavia House: A Nordic Center (New York) and L'Ecole des Beaux-Arts (France). His expertise spans urban design and master planning, programming, architectural concept development and design with a special emphasis on projects involving complex programmatic, political and/or regulatory issues.
Robert is a Fellow at the Institute for Architecture and Urban Studies (New York), and has taught and lectured extensively, including at Yale, Pratt, LSU, SUNY Buffalo, University of Maryland and the National Archives in DC.
