Healthcare Planning: Nursing Unit Simulation
Simulation is the process of designing and developing a computerized model of a real system in order to perform numerical experiments to obtain a better understanding of the behavior of that system under a set of conditions. By changing variables, predictions may be made about the operation of the system and different scenarios can be developed. This article is an example of how simulation can be used to obtain efficiency metrics from a nursing unit floor plan.
