Duke University Student Center
Fuqua School of Business
Durham, North Carolina
Completion Date: 2002
Square Footage: 48,000 New, 22,000 Renovation

The Lafe P. and Rita D. Fox Student Center is the third phase of our strategic and master planning effort that has guided the school's institutional growth over the past 14years.

It has become the centerpiece of campus life and a "living room" for the business school complex, fostering formal and informal interactions and providing a physical framework for collaboration. The program includes a 300-seat cafeteria, 24-hour snack bar and lounge.

Sited at the intersection of the east and west wings of the complex, it establishes a strong public presence for the school with greater connection to the Duke campus and accessibility for visiting corporate groups and students. The indoor winter garden and outdoor terraces are enhanced by a sense of openness and transparency with natural light and views out to Duke Forest.
