For its Santa Monica showroom, Haworth aimed to create a distinct product visual aligned with the brand position and newly established brand "language", while reflecting the Southern California design aesthetic. Our Branded Environments discipline and our Los Angeles office created an environment with spatial flexibility via raised-floor systems, reconfigurable wall partitions and "quick-change" product layouts.

Our research into West Coast preferences informed features such as a sand-filled "Zen garden", ceramic tile lined "dry pool", green plantings, a finish palette of bright, saturated colors and a variety of casual interaction areas for both groups and individuals. Sustainable features include energy-efficient ambient lighting systems, individually controlled task lighting and the use of rapidly renewable materials, such as wheat board and cork flooring. We designed an environment that is beautiful, yet functional, supporting Haworth's belief that user satisfaction and productivity are directly related to user control of their environment.
