A new front door and street image was created with the expansion of the Hamilton General Hospital to accommodate the new Heart Investigation Unit. The project provided four new cardiac catheterization suites; two open heart operating rooms; support facilities including offices, a new main entrance and lobby for the hospital; space for new food services and a public garden at the corner of Barton and Victoria Streets.
