The Reliance Group Headquarters
New Mumbai, India
The Reliance Group, India's largest private sector company and a producer of textiles and refined oil products, holds a place on Fortune's Global 500 list. When Reliance decided to relocate their corporate offices from a building in Mumbai, India, to a large land holding in New Mumbai, India, they turned to Perkins+Will to create a master plan for the 158-acre site. The campus also includes multiple Perkins+Will designs—the main gateway to the site, a new National Headquarters Building, a Petroleum House Headquarters, a Conference/Training center, a Bio-Research Laboratory and various site amenities.
Initially, the new campus will accommodate 15,000 staff members from various fields to function as the hub of all Reliance activities. Ultimately, the campus will accommodate over 30,000 staff members. A lifelong dream of Reliance's late founder, Dhirubhai Ambani, the new campus was brought to life by Mukesh Ambani, the current Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of the group. Ambani set specific goals for the design of the National Headquarters Building, which is to communicate the organization's expanding global position, support the young and informal corporate culture unique to Reliance and promote the high value they place on the well-being of their employees.
