Tribune Interactive
The Tribune Company
Chicago, Illinois
The Chicago Tribune's once-abandoned reel and press levels in their landmark tower in Chicago now provide 90,000 additional square feet of usable space for the company.
Comprising three distinct components, the new headquarters of Tribune's Internet division is a totally open work environment including 290 work sites organized over three levels. Several open and enclosed team rooms provide meeting space.
The second component is a two-level Fitness Center for the use of all Tribune Company employees. This 12,500 square foot facility provides a half-court basketball/multi-use court and workout and exercise areas. Men's and women's locker rooms each have their own sauna and 175 lockers each. The Fitness Center also provides a lounge and juice bar area, as well as its own towel laundry equipment.
The third component to the space features a new corporate conference center on two levels. Three new conference rooms handle 12 to 15 people. Two large multi-use training rooms handle 16 to 20 people or combine for theater seating of up to 120. Each level has break-out and pantry facilities.
